Major works – what next?
I’m sure we are all breathing a sigh of relief as we have seen the scaffolding coming down and the estate can get back to normal. But did you know that there is a 12 month warranty period where anything that has been done wrong will get corrected? This was part of the contract so if you have any complaints then make them heard as soon as possible. If you had new windows fitted or old ones upgraded , then please do test all of them – we have found examples where one or two did not work properly and needed adjusting.

Although you will all have had a form from Standage about the works, your TRA committee would also really like to hear your feedback about the major works – what went well, what didn’t? Which improvements are you really pleased to see and is there anything you don’t like? We will feed this all back to the council so that they can do things better with other estates. If they can learn lessons as things go along then we can hope that the next set of major works will go more smoothly, with the residents’ voices being heard more from the outset.
Your TRA committee are also working closely with Standage on their offer to give something back to the estate. We have suggested benches and raised beds for communal gardening, and this is under consideration.
