Are you washing and squashing?

Your TRA committee has successfully approached Southwark council to request more recycling bins for the estate. Unlike the ordinary rubbish bins (which are the tall metal bins) our recycling is only taken away once a week on Thursday. With more of us staying at home due to Lockdowns there has been increased amounts of recycling put out, which was a health concern as well as just making the estate look a mess. There are now six of these recycling instead of four. But it is still important that we all make sure we are getting the most from the bins that we have:

Please only put items you know can be recycled into the recycling bins.

If you are not sure then it is best to use the ordinary bins.

Wash and Squash

OK that’s two things but it rhymes! If possible collapse any cardboard boxes because then they take up less room. Similarly cans and plastic bottles. Please wash/rinse out items like food jars or tins.
